Something Vintage

Over the 30 or so years of  being a photographer I have had quite a few cameras, some I sold on, others I collected. If you visit my gallery you will see several dotted around the place, I just love old cameras. I can’t resist a boot sale or flea market; I’m always on the lookout for something a bit different. Anyway I was looking into doing something with them so why not photograph them.

As they are vintage cameras I thought I would add an extra element and shoot them Polaroid style. Over the next few weeks I will keep adding to the blog and I will of course add any new cameras I collect. As I have said before I love my photography and I’m always looking for something a bit different to do. If you have any old cameras you don’t want I would always be interested. Oh and before you say all my photographs are out of focus it’s the smear effect you used to get from Polaroid film. For those that can remember, when you shot Polaroid you had to pull the film from the camera and it broke a seal releasing developer onto the actual picture, hence the smear effect, One day I will write a blog explaining Polaroid as it is quite fascinating. Nothing like todays Digital cameras where you just click the shutter and download the image, life is becoming so boring.

Polaroid Land Camera Unfortunately it isn’t possible to get film for most Poloroid cameras now and this is no exception

The original Poloroid Swinger. film no longer available

Close up shot of one of the Legendry Poloroid SX70 type cameras. You can obtain film for these cameras from the Impossible Film Company

Another of the cheaper SX70 type film cameras, Still fun to use with Impossible film.

Close up of one of my really old Rolleiflex cameras, it still takes good pictures with 120 type film

Another shot of the same camera. They have so much class

An Old Solida III. This is a bit bashed but works perfectly. It folds dead flat and the lens is pin sharp

Close up of my trusty old Yashica Matt 124G medium format camera. I still use this camera from time to time

Close up of my Minolta M Range finder. I love this camera, it’s currently broken but I intend getting it repaired because its so easly to use, pin sharp and there are fond memories from when I used it in Albania

This is a car-boot special,aa Decora Dignette. A strange little camera that takes pretty good pictures for such a cheap

piece of kit

The King Regula IIIa I dont know much about this camera other then it had all the bells and whistles for it’s day.
